Jump Rope
Coordination and conditioning in a tiny footprint—start with short sets.
Quick answer
Jump just high enough to clear the rope, land soft on the midfoot, keep elbows close, and turn from the wrists.
Rope work is fantastic when space is limited. If you're new, do 20–40 second bouts with rest. Calves and Achilles need gradual exposure.
Form cues
- Light bounce; quiet landings
- Wrists turn the rope, not giant arm circles
- Eyes forward
Common mistakes
- Jumping too high
- Double-jumping every turn
- Hard heel-slamming landings
Programming notes
8–12 rounds of 20–45s. Progress time before speed tricks.
