Zone-2 Incline Walk
Low-impact aerobic base builder—conversation pace on an incline treadmill.
Quick answer
Walk on an incline at a pace where you can speak in full sentences. Aim for 20–45 minutes. Nose breathing optional; panic gasping means too hard.
Zone-2 isn't flashy, but it's how you build an engine that recovers between hard sets and hard weeks. Incline walking is joint-friendly and doable in crowded gyms.
Form cues
- Upright posture; light hand support only
- Smooth stride—don't overstride
- Keep heart rate in an easy aerobic zone
Common mistakes
- Holding the rails and turning it into a lean
- Going so steep you hike with terrible posture
- Turning every walk into a HIIT session
Programming notes
2–4 sessions/week, 20–45 min. Pair with lifting days or separate easy days.
